For how late today started, we certainly got a lot done. We left the house to go pick up our passports at around 1:30pm. There was a very small window in which we could pick them up today. Between 3pm and 4pm was the timeline to pick them up and if we didn't get there in time then it would be the end of our trip. So you see how important and stressful it was. We had like an hour of traveling to the Passport place by a mix of train and walking so we were very stressed about something going wrong. Luckily we made it there with plenty of time to spare and got our passports. Everyone had a big sigh of relief as we were able to continue our amazing vacation.

After that we went walking around town and ended up going to the art museum. Along the way we saw some very cool buildings such as the Torre Gloris, Torres Venecianas which was at the entrance to the museum and built for the 1990 Olympics, some stadiums and many other things. At the start of the museum there was an expo that we went to for a little and got some samples and then headed up a lot of stairs to the museum. The view at the top of the stairs at the entrance to the building of the museum was amazing. You could see the whole city as if you were looking from the stars. We walked around to go to another castle on top of a hill that Connor heard had a great sunset view. So as it was approaching that time, we went up there. It took us a while to get there after going on the wrong road for a while and then having to get directions from someone who worked construction around the area. However we eventually made it to the castle and it did not disappoint. It was very big and had cannons surrounding it for protection, as well as some cannons for boats way out at sea. We ate our dinner of sandwiches (I know right, who would've guessed) as we enjoyed the views. Mom and Gage eventually went back down to enjoy the city but Griff, Connor, Kayla, and Dad stayed up there for a little longer because well... We had tickets to the Barcelona Futbol game that night!! Everyone was extremely excited. The Game started at 9pm and it was about 7 o'clock.

As we had time before the game started, we decided to go to this amazing sunset spot and it might have been the most gorgeous sunsets we've ever seen.

Mom And Gages night:

Lookout/bar at Olympic Diving Pool

(Parent note: Gage and I decided that we would prefer to spend our portion of the travel budget on something other than the Barcelona game so we made different plans after walking down from the castle - along the way stumbling upon the Olympic Diving Pool which is set into a very steep hillside and is now a bar with a beautiful view of the city, and you can get you drinks and sit in the stadium seats looking at the pool and the beautiful view. We considered stopping for a drink, but the line at the bar was VERY long, so we headed down to the Gothic Quarter there we had a delicious stir fry for dinner, then went for churros with dark chocolate dipping sauce, and then topped it off with some ice cream. We then walked around the Gothic Quarter marveling at the various buildings. At around 8:30 we agreed we were ready to head back to the apartment- but on our way to the metro station we came across a parade. Quickly realizing it was for International Women's Day, we decided to join in and march along for a bit. On our way to the metro, we then stumbled across a store selling excellent-looking cookies. We were both extremely full from the dinner and churros and ice cream, but we had spent just a tiny fraction of the cost of the game tickets, so we agreed to buy a cookie and it it tomorrow. Because we deserve it!)

Back to the rest of the gang:

After enjoying the sunset, we went back down to the stadium to get ready for the game. We walked around the stadium which was beautiful because it's where the Olympics were hosted so it had a lot of super cool decorations. Connor and Griff decided that they wanted to get scarves so they each got one. There were these 2 guys walking around with a camera and a soccer ball getting people to juggle. Griff decided he wanted to do it so he went and started doing all these tricks and people started chanting which was very fun. We then went into the stadium which was electric.  Our seats were in a very good spot super close to the field. The game was super exciting and they Won!! Everyone had an amazing time and had a smile on their face the whole time. Griff found his new favorite chant/song called “Ale Ale Aleee” and was singing it the rest of the night. We got home from the game at around 1:30 and then put on some National Geographic as we had some more food and then we went to bed.
