Today we had a little bit of a late start, our train from Bonassola to Milan was set to leave at 12:00pm. So we were able to wake up and have a pretty leisurely morning, well, at least most of us could. Some of us… had a bit more trouble relaxing.
After we had completely packed up, we all just sat around and relaxed for about 45 minutes while we were waiting for the guy to come check us out of the apartment. During that time, Kayla and I played some cards(I totally won… totally). In that time she also sewed up her string bag. We checked out of the apartment at around 11:30, and headed to the train station.
We sat around the train station for another 20 minutes before our train arrived. Once it did, we hopped on and got going. We had to get off of the train in Levanto and wait another hour for our connection train that would bring us to Milan. While we were waiting for the train, Mom, Nana, Griffin, and I went to the store to get a few more provisions for the train ride. We got back to the station then got on the train, or, we tried to.
Our assigned seats for the train ride were in car 5, only, car 5 was closed. So we had to just find seats where we could. Eventually, we were told to move to car 8, which meant that we had to get off of the train with all of our stuff, rush down the platform, and get back on the train in car 8. We did it no problem, so we kept on chugging towards Milan. On the train, Kayla, Griffin, and I played some cards, which we ended up stopping halfway through because we got a little bored. So instead we borrowed Nana Andi’s iPad and watched Suits.
We got off the in Milan then got yet another connection that would take us about a half hour outside of Milan to our new apartment. We were expecting the apartment to be tiny and barely have enough space for our bags, but it was HUGE. This place is beautiful, it’s got three bedrooms, 1 1/2 bathrooms, and like 4 TVs, and a PS3!! Not to mention, a very large kitchen with a massive pantry.
We got settled in and slightly unpacked(we have a flight in 36 hours), and Mom and Dad went to the Aldi (Mom was very excited) while the rest of us enjoyed relaxing in various ways: Connor and Griffin playing on the PS3, me working on the blog, and Kayla and the Nanas had a little cocktail hour with cheese and wine.
After Mom and Dad returned from shopping, we decided to get pizza for dinner. We went to this pizza place and ordered our pizzzas for takeout, and the parents went back to the apartment while the rest of us had to stay at the pizza place and wait for them to be ready. While we were waiting, Connor asked a completely random question, “Does anyone ever wonder how a receipt tastes?”, and Griffin immediately responded, “Let’s find out” and ate the receipt. He then spit it out once he realized that we might still need it. We ended up not needing but it was still hilarious to watch.
We got the pizzas and went home, and they were absolutely delicious.
After dinner we cleaned up and people trickled into bed.
