Today we headed to Malaga! We got up, got ready, and went out the door to our next destination. (Parent note: Jen here. Griff failed to mention the bitch mint I awarded myself this morning. Let's just say that I got a tad fed up with the children not stepping up and found their share in a variety of ways, and seemingly taking for granted that Matt and I would just do everything. Fully justified reaction, of course, but I also recognized that screaming at the children would not make for a good start to the day or a peaceful departure from Sevilla. So I had my mint (and a little gelato, since we had to finish it anyway, and was able to mostly lecture the children instead of screaming, so that was a win all around!).

We left at 10:15am and got on the bus for 2 hours after mom used Griff as her talker and translator. (Parent note: the bus station had 40 bays, with busses in about half of them, but no markings to say which bus was going where. We found a bus from the company we knew was the one we were using the get to Malaga, but it turned out not to be the right one. I had Griff ask a nearby Spanish couple if they knew which bus was to Malaga; they didn't, but that was the bus they were waiting for as well so we felt some security standing near them. And Griff was my translator, asking them in Spanish. He was a little bummed when they answered him in English. He felt better when we found the right bus and the bus driver answered him in Spanish ). The ride there was gorgeous with amazing scenery of many mountains and greenery all over. When we arrived in Malaga, we decided to take 2 separate Ubers because they were pretty cheap. (Parent note: and we don't fit in just one and it would have been a 45 minute walk to our Airbnb, so seemed a good call!)

The first group was Dad, Connor and Griff. The second car contained Kayla, Mom, and Gage. The difference between the two car rides was astronomical. When the first car pulled up for Dad, Connor, and Griff, the driver was very chatty and spoke only in Spanish. He was a very fun guy and Griff and him conversed the whole time. Dad understood a little but still needed a little bit of Griffin's help but Connor on the other hand was as clueless as ever. He got the gist of it mostly. However since Griff and The driver were talking so much, he ended up accidentally missing his turn. Now here's the thing about Spain, the roads are a little strange in the fact that you can't exactly get back on the right path super quickly. So instead of just making a few quick turns, you have to drive all over just to go back to the place you needed to turn. The driver was very apologetic but he was very fun and nice and we didn't really mind it at all. It really just gave us more time to talk with him about the city. We eventually got there about 15 minutes later than scheduled but it was still a very fun and enjoyable ride. When we got there, Mom, Kayla, and Gage (who had left much later than us) were waiting by the door. Apparently their car ride wasn't as much fun. The driver didn't really talk and Kayla, and Mom were trying to start a conversation with him but he couldn't really understand their spanish. Gage didn't feel like using his spanish and he decided to sit on his phone instead. They eventually got to the house much less excited but much quicker. When everyone was at the apartment, mom and dad walked down and got the keys. After a while, they brought them back and we unlocked the doors. Oh wait. My bad. We couldn't unlock the doors because we had the wrong keys. Or so we thought. Turns out we were at the wrong door all along. The door we were meant to go into was one door over to the right. As we got in, got settled and got ready to see The amazing city of Malaga.

We decided to go for a walk shortly after we got into our place. We walked out to the Porto de Malaga on the edge of the Mediterranean sea and walked down the boardwalk, which eventually led us to a beach that we walked along. There were many cool sights such as the Gibralfaro Castle, the Alcazaba, and other historical landmarks. We also saw a very large what seemed to be a Pirate ship as well as a very very large yacht. The beach had many fun things to do such as volleyball, playgrounds and other fun activities. We then walked back and on the way stopped at a grocery store to buy some dinner and food for other upcoming meals. We then got home, made dinner, Planned out many other day trips and things we wanted to see. Then Connor and Kayla went out to walk around some more, Mom, Dad, and gage went out to get some dessert. And Griff ate some more and eventually found his way to Kayla and Connor. Everyone eventually got home and went to bed.

See you tomorrow for our first full day in Malaga!
